Dr. Smith holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with extensive experience in technology, innovation, and business strategy.
Dr. Smith is also a Director at Applied Materials, Inc, with over 20 years of industry experience, including tenure at Apple, Texas Instruments, and National Semiconductor. He has worked directly with other startups as an executive advisor supporting fundraising and other startup growth activities. He also Co-Founded GTronix, Inc. which was later acquired by National Semiconductor. He has successfully led the development of advanced low-power integrated circuits, and Heterogeneously Integrated Chiplet-based systems for various markets, including consumer, enterprise, mobile, and automotive.
Dr. Smith’s experience also includes roles as CEO & Co-Founder at MAVRIC Semiconductor, Inc., where he secured $250K in grants, and as a Business Development Manager at Texas Instruments, achieving significant growth in Asian distributor sales.
Dr. Smith’s skills encompass a broad range, of technical expertise. He brings a wealth of experience in cross-functional leadership, and blue ocean innovation and strategy, with a commitment to driving successful business strategies, and innovative programs in a dynamic, global, and fast-paced environment.
Dr. Smith holds two patents and has over 20 peer reviewed publications. He was honored as “Distinguished Young Alumnus” by Illinois Institute of Technology in 2012. He is a native of Chicago and enjoys building businesses and dabbling in crypto in his free time.
